Le Voyage du Vin

A Lot18 visit to Channing Daughters Winery in Bridgehampton, Long Island.

Christopher Tracy explaining the process of picking grapes – and avoiding the bad ones. :) We were the official grape inspectors.

Where do you think the expression "Heard it through the grapevine" originated? (It must be from vineyard chatter.)

Chardonnay Grapes. They're so pretty ... and tasty too!

Anyone can pick grapes! Even hipsters!

"This is the foundation of America. Working with our hands to achieve great products," says Jay

– or something along those lines, anyway. The rest is lost through grapevine chatter.

Janine, our Imported Wine Director, shared some great insight on picking grapes by hand vs. machine and how that affects the wine.

"Get to work!" says vineyard manager Abel Lopez. Just kidding! He was so nice to us. :)

"I throw my clippers up in the air sometimes. Saying AYO!" - Dynamite by Taio Cruz

Fermenting grapes.

At lunchtime, we were offered a variety of bright, juicy and delicious wines. The Petit Verdot Rosato was my favorite!

Thank you Christopher Tracy and CEO Larry Perrine for the great hospitality!
