Trader Joe's Wines Get Canned
A few months ago, we reported on how the canned wine phenomenon is gaining steam. Having portable, easy-to-open wine is practically a must during the summer, when everyone's hitting the beach or park, or going camping. And now Trader Joe's is getting on the aluminum train with their latest product, Simpler Wines. It may just be the best thing to hit the food market wine scene since Two Buck Chuck.
Trader Joe's worked with an Italian supplier to develop "delightfully quaffable" sparkling wines and rosés that come in a four-pack. According to the beloved market's website, the sparkling wine features "notes of juicy honeydew and fresh cut herbs to complement savory pairings such as fresh bread and olives or Parmigiano Reggiano," while the rosé shows "elegant mineral notes and red fruit flavors that are a natural fit for fresh pasta, seafood or sweets."
I'll definitely be throwing a few of these in my cart — along with my perennial TJ fave, sriracha bacon jerky — the next time I go food shopping. Happy summer to me!
